2007:The year of winning: cleanliness

cleanliness leads to security

18 "Come now, let us reason together,"
       says the LORD.
       "Though your sins are like scarlet,
       they shall be as white as snow;
       though they are red as crimson,
       they shall be like wool.

19 If you are willing and obedient,
       you will eat the best from the land;

20 but if you resist and rebel,
       you will be devoured by the sword."
       For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.

-isaiah 1:18-20 (NIV)

traveling minds

its a new month, ohh taking a deep breath. june the jesus month, actually thinking a lot of who jesus is and what He has stand for. getting excited but in a sense afraid about what we are up into. Well, we fall and back and fall and back... its actually tiring thinking of how God could that be patient for me, as He always did. i little get that much pressure about doing something and really got into it <talking about speaking in parables this is it> i'm up for a new challenge and the only thing required is intimacy and brokeness. so obsessed thinking about what actually God can do more than what who God is. the call is there, is it? having some john the baptist disappointments (read the barbarian way by macmanus). the whole month that is, ohh really get stressed without the spirit. talking about missing the point "God is calling for the heart and the integrity that it takes". i don't know actually and full of the unknown <on the edge of breaking Down>. Leadership at its best and the awakening.

i want to bear fruits

He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

— John 15:5

What does God mean when He says we should bear fruit?  Four aspects of fruitfulness, according to Scripture, are:

1.  Winning others to Jesus Christ and helping them to grow spiritually.  Paul wrote to his friends in

Rome

, “I often planned to come to you… that I might have some fruit among you” (Romans 1:13).  So in whatever way God uses you, whether you’re praying for someone, driving them to church or a Bible study, or sharing the gospel, that is fruit in your life.

2.  Sharing what God has blessed us with.  When Paul collected an offering from the Gentiles for the poor saints in

Jerusalem

, he referred to that offering as fruit (see Romans 5:28).  When we take our finances and invest them in the kingdom through tithes and offerings, it will result in fruit to our account.

3.  Praising and thanking God.  When we lift our voices to sing to God, that is an offering to Him.  Even if you don’t know all the words, just give it your best, because that is a way to bear fruit.

4.  A change in our conduct and character: “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control” (Galatians 5:22–23).  These virtues should be a part of our lives, but they don’t appear overnight.  It takes time.  Be patient, and sink your roots deeply into the person of Jesus Christ.

If we keep applying ourselves to the basic disciplines of spiritual growth, then we will continue to flourish and bear fruit.  May we glorify God by bearing fruit in our lives as we become more like Him.

Faith has its basics

The Basics of Faith

2 CORINTHIANS 5:6-9

Most people live according to sight, feeling, and reasoning. In other words, life choices are based on preferences, obvious circumstances, and what one's limited knowledge determines is best. A decision made in this way can seem completely rational but be far outside the Lord's will. Our eyes, emotions, and intuition can deceive us; however, God never will. As we live by faith, the center of our existence shifts from selfish ambition to Jesus Christ. We seek His way before making plans and depend on His provision for our needs. Proverbs 3:5-6 advises, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."

We do not build godly faith by reading Christian books or even by listening to sermons. Faith has to be experienced. Those who walk with the Lord do not await His commands in the comfort of their easy chair. All throughout Scripture, we see individuals act after placing trust in God. Deborah and Gideon each led their nation to war (Judges 4; 7); the apostle Paul went to the mission field (Acts 9:20). These people were putting their belief to work, strengthening their trust daily.

We can stumble through our days with only our limited sight to guide us, or we can slip a hand confidently into our Lord's grasp and walk confidently. The choice is left to each believer. Give God just one area of your life, and you'll experience His trustworthiness. Give Him everything, and you will walk triumphantly every day.
